Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying Internet TV, there weren’t many real reviews around so I thought I’d write one quickly to help any of you who are in the same position I was. We all know how annoying it is to deal with our Cable TV or Satellite TV companies. I know in my area, it can cost up to 100$ a month if you want all top notch channels.

You don’t need a satellite dish, receiver or any other equipment to use it. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection. Simply download the software and you can watch over 3,500 channels worldwide. The other day I was watching a soccer game in Israel, it was pretty cool.

You can watch TV right from your laptop or desktop computer anytime or anywhere in the world. Satellite Direct is one of the only TV Internet Software programs that can allow you to plug your computer into your TV (if your like me and own a 52 inch LCD TV screen). Well whenever I did some thinking as to why I chose Satellite Direct as my Internet TV software of choice, I thought of comparing what I do now to the conventional way of watching TV today. That being said, I didn’t mind buying it whenever I ran into it because it was so cheap.

Good Points

• Since we use the Internet, we can use it Anywhere at Anytime.

• No extra hardware like cable boxes, fishing wires, satellite dishes. Your PC only. (and I heard its available on macs too)

• 3,500 channels worldwide vs. the “amazing” 1000 channels you can get from satellite. Or the 150 exaggerated cable channels.

• No Monthly fees, Unlimited usage.

Now that we’ve gone over the good points to this software, I will show you why this along with all other legitimate programs aren’t perfect.  I told you that it’s going to be unbiased and now we will look at the Bad points. I do know that some of the bad points of the program do suck but I got over them.

Bad Points

• No access to a Remote Control for us lazy folks. We can hook it up to our TV though to fix that.

• I have noticed that most of the channels are about 1 hour behind live broadcasting. However there are NO Commercials (forgot to put that in the Good points because I hate them).

• Have to have the Internet hooked up to get access to the channels.

• Sometimes (Rarely) some of the channels are out of order because the connection is not set up at that particular moment. Usually comes back though.’

The first path you can choose to take is the one that is most prevalent in todays Internet community, downloadable or free live Internet TV. I don’t mean to scare you with this topic because there are all kinds of places that offer such services and I’ve had awesome experiences with them.

Don’t be alarmed if you download free Internet TV and it comes with a little “extracurricular” files that might give you a few headaches. Well this post wouldn’t be worth much without proof as I always feel that the Internet is nothing without backup.

Another Route you take is looking for the cheapest way out. Usually this ends up in you buying a trial offer for PC TV. These babies can cost you upwards of $20 or even $50 since this type of software is sold usually for around $150 full cost. Now the bad thing about this is that you get your hopes up and end up buying the cheap software for Internet TV not realizing that you have it for just the right amount of time to get your awesome channels installed. Then all of a sudden, your trial expires and they are asking for probably about 200$ for the product and the sad part is that you go ahead with it because those are the exact strategies they are implementing on you to make you want more of what you have already tried.  So that’s a wrap up on what happens when you skimp on certain things on the Internet.  A lot of nasty people are out to get you, particularly on Internet TV.
